Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy governs how you may use ABU Campuswave ("the Platform"), a student and alumni campus network that provides social feeds, communities, messaging, an in‑app Credits system for tipping creators, and a peer‑to‑peer student Marketplace for listing items. By accessing or using ABU Campuswave, you agree to this policy.

1. Who can use ABU Campuswave

ABU Campuswave is intended for current students and alumni of supported universities. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to make payments on the Platform (for example, purchasing a Premium subscription). You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. What you may do

  • Share posts, media, and updates relevant to your campus community.
  • Join communities, message other users, and participate in Campus Friends matching.
  • List genuine, lawfully owned items for sale in the Marketplace.
  • Purchase a Premium subscription and use in‑app Credits to tip creators.
  • Advertise legitimate products or services through approved ad campaigns.

3. Prohibited content and conduct

You may not use ABU Campuswave to post, share, sell, promote, or facilitate:

  • Illegal goods or services, stolen property, or counterfeit or replica items.
  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or regulated dangerous items.
  • Drugs, controlled substances, prescription medication, tobacco, or alcohol to minors.
  • Adult or sexually explicit content, or any content that sexualises minors.
  • Hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, or violent content.
  • Fraud, scams, pyramid or Ponzi schemes, money laundering, or deceptive practices.
  • Gambling, betting, lotteries, or unlicensed financial or investment services.
  • Malware, phishing, or attempts to compromise the Platform or other users.
  • Content that infringes another party's intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Impersonation of any person, brand, institution, or ABU Campuswave staff.
  • Spam, bulk unsolicited messaging, or artificial inflation of engagement.

4. Marketplace listings

The ABU Campuswave Marketplace is a listings and messaging service that connects student buyers and sellers. ABU Campuswave does not process payment for Marketplace goods, does not take custody of items, and is not a party to those transactions — buyers and sellers arrange payment and handover directly between themselves. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your listings, the legality and condition of items you sell, and for honouring the terms you agree with the other party. Listing an item you do not own, cannot lawfully sell, or do not intend to deliver is prohibited.

5. Credits, tips, and payments

Credits (CP) are an in‑app reward unit that you earn through engagement on the Platform and can use only for permitted in‑app features, such as tipping creators. Credits have no cash value: they cannot be bought, sold, exchanged for money, transferred outside the Platform, or withdrawn to a bank account, and they are not a bank account, a money‑transfer service, or an investment product. We may hold, limit, reverse, or freeze Credit balances where we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, or a violation of this policy or applicable law.

Where the Platform offers paid features (for example, a Premium subscription), payments are processed by our third‑party payment provider. You may pay only with your own lawful funds, and you may not use any payment or Credits feature to launder funds, transfer value for illegal purposes, or circumvent these rules.

6. Enforcement

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, reverse transactions, and report activity to payment providers or law‑enforcement where we believe this policy or the law has been breached. Where possible we will give notice, but we may act immediately to protect users, ABU Campuswave, or third parties.

7. Reporting violations

If you encounter content, a listing, or conduct that violates this policy, report it in‑app or contact us at support@wavesocial.com.ng. We review reports and take appropriate action.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of ABU Campuswave after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
